Too many moms...
-Couldn't feed their babies if grocery store shelves were empty.
-Couldn't keep their babies comfortable during extreme heat or freezing temperatures
-Couldn't cook a single meal if the stove and microwave stopped working
-Are one bad storm or life event away from realizing how unprepared they actually are

What if it didn't have to be that way?

Â
I’m a wife and homeschooling mom of four, running a business… and trying to keep up with “Mom, I’m hungry,” “I don’t like that,” dishes, laundry, and everything else like every other mom.
I started my preparedness journey about 15 years ago because the thought of not being able to take care of my family after a major earthquake made me incredibly anxious.
In September 2021, I created Prepared Like a Mother after watching what happened during COVID.
I saw moms scrambling for food, baby formula, toilet paper… just trying to get through the next day.
I saw moms with sick babies who couldn’t find the medicine they needed for fever and relief.
And I couldn’t shake it:
I can’t imagine anything worse than looking at my babies in an emergency and saying...
“I’m sorry you’re cold, hungry, sick, and scared… I can’t help you. I wasn’t prepared.”
That’s really what Prepared Like a Mother is for me.
Helping moms feel capable of taking care of their families when life goes sideways.

Insights from Experts in Family Preparedness
Jason M. @preppingwithpappy
"In the few short years that I have known JaNae, she has demonstrated nothing but genuine care and concern for people’s well being and wanting to help them become better prepared to face whatever emergency, disaster, or event that they face in life. As a wife and mother of 4 young kids, her life is already busy and full, yet she dedicates time to help anyone who asks it of her. She is more than a preparer, she is a nurturer, and she demonstrates that as she gives of her personal resources to help others. For these reasons, I support JaNae in her efforts with Prepared Like a Mother and her Inner Circle."

JaNae is a wonderfully distinct voice within our preparedness community. I always enjoy her down-to-earth, family-focused content, and I’ve personally learned a lot from her. I especially like how she finds ways to make preparedness topics (which can sometimes be scary!) easier for younger kids to understand and practice. But what I like most about Prepared Like a Mother is that JaNae is not only sharing about preparedness online, she’s living it in the real world, every day. She’s the real deal!
