You don’t prepare because you expect the worst—you prepare so your kids still feel safe when life gets messy.

I’ve always had a strange love for severe weather. The kind of fascination that had me watching storm footage while other kids watched cartoons. But once I became a mom, that fascination shifted into something deeper: responsibility. If something bad ever happened, it was on me to keep my kids safe. So I started where most people do, by piecing together a 72-hour kit. Over the years, I added more, learned more, and it quietly became something I genuinely loved.
Then one day, my sister-in-law asked if I could help her get prepared. I was thrilled—until I started. Suddenly, I was buried in questions, had endless tabs open on my computer and was so overwhelmed I paused and tried not to panic.Â
It was a confusing, overwhelming, and honestly, kind of scary time because at this point I already had a growing Instagram account of over 10,000 people who trusted me to get their families prepared.Â
And if I was feeling that way, someone who loves this stuff, what about the moms who were already living in fear, just trying to hold it all together?
That’s when it hit me: this doesn’t need to be so chaotic.
I stopped trying to “do it all” and started breaking it down into bite-sized, doable pieces. And that’s when everything changed. I created my Emergency Preparedness Workbook, that could help her think through her own emergency preparedness needs. And now, that’s what I help other moms do too!
Ditch the overwhelm and get truly prepared, one simple step at a time.
